Its portfolio of solutions has applications in a variety of sectors, including Lithium, Green Hydrogen, Desalination, Food + Beverage, and Wastewater Treatment.


Background
With a strong pipeline of commercial opportunities and significant growth forecast, Evove’s ability to deliver to customer requirements was paramount. The business was looking to establish a world-class delivery capability – one that would scale with the company, and create a blueprint of a ‘factory of the future’ for manufacturing membranes and 3D-printing. This model would then be replicated as Evove expanded internationally.
To spearhead this process, the company sought an exceptional SVP of Operations to lead the factory build and ramp-up of manufacturing processes, instilling the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and replicability.
Search
We were tasked with finding someone with an extensive track record in leading a manufacturing facility build-out, establishing a production operation from scratch and scaling it to volume manufacturing. This individual would come from either the Water or Oil + Gas industries and would possess a deep understanding of membrane manufacturing and the required quality standards.
Our search, therefore, focused on membrane/filtration manufacturing companies in the Water and Oil + Gas sectors. In order to maximise Evove’s options, we cast a wide geographic net to include mainland Europe, where there is a higher concentration of membrane manufacturers (especially in Germany and the Netherlands).
Within each target business, we identified those individuals who were at the right level and had responsibility for membrane manufacturing operations and supply chain.
Shortlist + Appointment
We delivered a strong shortlist of four candidates, from which, the successful candidate was Karl Pfaffenbach.
Karl joined Evove with a wealth of experience in process engineering, gained within both global businesses and startups, for advanced materials, filtration, and membrane technology companies.
His impact on the business was swift, and after a year in the role, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer.
